Okay, so this may sound insane, but go with me for a sec...
Alice wakes up for a feeding at 5 AM. Am I insane to consider waking up for the day at this time? It would mean I would lose about an hour of precious sleep, but it would also give me some quiet time before I start my day. Back in my pre-baby days, I enjoyed about 45 minutes of reflective time each workday morning, where I would relax on the couch, drink my first delicious cup of hot tea, and just enjoy starring out the window. I miss this time. A lot.
So, the poll question of the day is: should I just wake up at 5 AM, even if it means losing sleep? There's not a chance that I'll go to bed earlier, so you can take that out of the equation. Thoughts? How do/did other mom's find some zen time in their hectic days???
Have a Cozy Weekend.

I've asked myself the same question. And yes, on the weekdays anyway, I get up when my little guy wakes for for his first feeding. It gives me time to write, read, maybe get in a little yoga...some much needed "me" time.
I agree. I have to get up at 4:30 these days to even get a shower before the crazies are up but we also go to bed around 9 so I feel pretty rested at that early hour. It's a tough call..
I vote for sleep. Our son (now 3) was a bad sleeper for his first three years, and I can say from hard experience that nothing is more important than sleep. I try to find me time during weekend naps, or after our children go down in the evening. Or, honestly, try to think of your commute as time for your own reading and reflections. (This is hard on the subway, I admit.)
