Day 2 of Make NYC Your Gym week - Staten Island.
The event didn't go as smoothly as we would have liked. Fewer people participated than planned, and the energy was -- calmer than yesterday. But it was still lovely. At one point, the fitness instructor had us doing "stars," where we hand to start in a squat with our hands touching our ankles, then jump up, throw our arms in the air, and return to a squat. Since we were facing the southern tip of Manhattan, it felt like we were saying a prayer of thanksgiving to the City we were serving. Pretty amazing.
